Questions about choosing a painting service
Can two services run on one project?
Yes, and it is usually cheaper in access and setup than booking them separately. Interior painting plus drywall repair, or an exterior repaint plus deck and fence staining, share the same masking, the same crew and one mobilisation. We write them as one scope with the line items separated so you can see what each part covers.
Do you take small jobs, or only whole-house work?
We take single-room and single-elevation work, including one ceiling, one stairwell or a garage floor. Smaller jobs get scheduled into gaps between larger projects, so there is sometimes a wait on a specific date, and we will tell you that up front rather than after you have booked.
What does a written scope include?
Surfaces in and out of scope, the preparation for each one, the primer and finish products by type, the number of coats, sheen by surface, colour references once selected, access and equipment needed, and the sequence of work. It is the document you can hold us to, and it is the reason two bids that look similar in total often are not comparable at all.
Are your residential and commercial crews the same people?
The trade skills overlap but the working method does not, so the crews are assigned differently. Occupied commercial work runs nights and weekends with different containment, signage and access rules, and the specification is usually written by the owner or manager. Residential work runs daytime with the household in mind.
Which services are best done together on a coastal property?
Near the water, pair the exterior repaint with metal work. Railings, gates, light fixtures, window frames and stair stringers are where chloride corrosion starts, and coating the walls while leaving rusting metal untouched shortens the life of the whole job. Fascia, eaves and any wood that gets salt spray belong in the same phase.
How far ahead should a commercial repaint be booked?
Bring us in during planning rather than after a budget is fixed. Specification, colour approval, board or ownership sign-off and phasing take longer than the painting on most multi-building projects, and access windows for occupied buildings get scarce in the drier months when everyone wants exterior work done.
